Are you interested in learning Japanese calligraphy, but don't know where to start?

Do you want to improve your handwriting in Japanese and leave a good impression?

I can help.

I've experienced the joy of writing beautiful Japanese calligraphy, exactly as imagined. And I would love to help you do the same.

Together, in one-on-one lessons with me, you'll learn how to write the Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana that you want. And you'll write it so beautifully, you'll want to show it to your friends and family.

But you won't be alone in doing it. I will guide you every step of the way and help you improve really quickly.

What you'll be able to do

You'll learn basic things like the proper stroke-order, proportions, etc. But you'll also learn how to use various tools.

Improve your Japanese Handwriting

Not only in writing calligraphy, but your everyday handwriting in Japanese will improve. Get ready for Japanese people to say "your handwriting is so beautiful! Where did you learn?"

Remember Kanji Better

Through calligraphy, you'll become intimately acquainted with Kanji, so you'll have an easier time remembering and recognizing Kanji in your everyday life.

Relieve stress and feel new levels of calm

Calligraphy requires your body and mind. Many people experience a meditation-like state when they practice. And the more they practice, the calmer they become.

Experience Japanese Culture

Calligraphy is a central part of Japanese culture. When you take part in it, you're taking part in a cultural tradition hundreds of years old.

What will you do?

This is specifically what we will do in our sessions together

1: Decide what you want to write

Before each session, you will share what you want to be able to write with me. I'll make a custom practice sheet specifically for our session.

2: Get the practice sheet

You'll get the practice sheet before our session so you can prepare.

3: Practice

During our session, we'll practice writing.

4: Master

After we practice, I'll give you feedback to help you improve. And we will practice again so you can write the calligraphy even better.

5: Refine

After our session, you can practice writing on your own and send a picture to me. I'll give you corrections to help you refine even more.

Tools Needed

1. A tool to write

It can be a Japanese calligraphy brush, felt pen, pencil, brush pen, anything! You can choose the lesson based on the tool you want to use.

You will also get recommendations on what writing tools I recommend, which you can purchase before our first meeting.

2. Zoom Video Call Software

Sessions will be done on zoom, so please make sure you have the free software on your computer.

3. Sesson Time

45 Minutes.
